LATEST FIGURES SHOW IMPROVEMENT.
Hie railway revenue for the period April 1 to July 19. 1924, was £1,965,486, which is £12,349 less than for the corresponding period of last year. The expenditure was £1,622,873,” which is a decrease ol £13,187 on last- year’s period.
For the four-weekly period ended June 19, the total revenue -was £483,030, an increase of £29,086; and the expenditure was £433,734, a decrease of £23,259. The revenue returns for the North and South Islands for the April-July period were :—.
