SHIP IN DANGER

CAUGHT IN ICE FIELD

FORTY-SEVEN MEN ON BOARD

A CALL FOE HELP, BT CABLE—PREBS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT OTTAWA, Aug. 24. A wireless message from the Hudson Bay Company’s motorship Lady Kin- ; dersley say 6 the ship is caught in an ice field at the mouth of the MacKenzie RSver, with forty-seven men on hoard. It asks that an aeroplane be sent immediately, as it is the only chance of escape. The crew failed in an attempt to get ashore over the ice. The ship is now drifting towards the North Pole and is threatened with destruction. An aeroplane trip would be perilous, and it would be ten days before it could reach the vicinity of the motor ship.
