At Chestnut Hills, Kinsey brothers won the national heating Pattrson and Wood, 7 —5, 5—7, 7 —9, 6—3, 6—4. In the first set Wood met Robert Kinsey, and each lost his service. The Australian stood within a point of winning the set on the tenth game, when Robert pulled out his service from I—3,1 —3, and Patterson losing the service in the eleventh, , the Americans won the second set.
