AN ANCIENT LIBRARY.

UNEARTHED AFTER 10.000 YEARS. Professor W. Niven and Dr. J. H. Cornyn have uncovered in Mexico a Mongolian library 10 to 25 feet under the earth, just beneath, a third layer of volcanic ashes. The professor estimates the library to he “at least 7000 years old and possibly 10.000. We know that the volcanic deluge came about 5000 years ago, for we can measure that by the various strata that are above the volcanic debris. This entire valley has a great volcanic cone with 50 active volcanic mountains, and at least three of these giants constantly threw out streams of lava, and asli and fire, which inundated this valley) like a great flood. It was at that inundation that this prehistoric library was covered and the attendants

buried.” The library shows that the various pyramids that were erected in the valley also represented worship of the volcano gods.. They are shaped like a volcano and the chief method of worship was to build fires on the tops of these pyramids and keep them burn, ing for 52 years, which was the century for these ancient peoples. It was on top of these pyramids that human ■sacrifices were made to the volcano gods long before the Aztecs came along with their human sacrifices. In addition to the books that have been miearthed from the shelves of this ancient library architectural drawings have been dug up by hundreds. Those are drawings of the pyramids and temples. They are on bnkjrd cljav, which is so hard that it is impregnable even bv the digger's pick. They are from sixteen inches to eleven inches in surface, and two inches thick. They are drawn by the architect in colours, and show each dimension and floor of the various pyramids and temples. One drawing shows four gables with ponded peaks, four terraces on each side and end, lmt. no entrance. The Pyramid Temnle in these days had no entrance. They were approached by ladders like the cliff dwellers, and when entrance was gained these ladders were drawn an for safety's sake. Tn later days stone steps were installed bv the Aztecs.
