CORRESPONDENCE.
A CORRECTION.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —Kindly allow me space to correct a. slight inaccuracy in your report —appearing in your leader of 22nd inst of my remarks at the Kakaramea Company’s annual meeting. What I said was not that “the cheese which was most in demand in the Old Country was that which was graded from 90 to 91-}; the cheese grading higher than that was not better”; but “that grading points, ■while being a good general indication of quality, do not set the value of the article in the Old Country, from a marketing point of view, as it frequently happens that cheese graded 90 to 91} points will please many buyers just as well as cheese graded several points higher.” The whole question resolves itself into the knowledge of the personal tastes required in certain districts, and this is what our grading system should assist us in.—l am, etc., GEO. H. BUCKERIDGE. Hawera, 23rd August, 1924.
