announcement shortly. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AVELLINGTON, Aug. 21. A statement that he expected to hear m a few days of the appointment of the new Governor-General was made m the House this afternoon by the Premier.
Replying to Mr. J. A. Lee (Auckland East), Mr. Massey said he had no intention of recommending some citizen of New Zealand for the Gover-nor-Generalship. He said the list of eligible nominees in Britain was not nearly exhausted, and he expected within a few days that they would be notified that a most suitable appointment had been made.
