MANAIA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A meeting of the Waimate Plains Eeuside Club was held last eveninowhen there were 28 present. An apology was received from Air A G Bennett (chairman) for his inability to be present. Hammonds read the minutes, and also a report of the deputation lhac interviewed Air Gamlin. Mr u-ainhn was not in favour of havinobathing sheds on the river side of his property. Airs Christie moved that sheds he erected on Crown lands.—Seconded bv Mr Hammonds and carried. It uas proposed that a dance be held to raise funds for the erection of bathing sheds.—Seconded by Air Hammonds and carried. Air Silvester proposed that the sheds be the first call on the funds.— The motion was carried. ship' * Cosgrove decl »ied the secretaryAlr Alf. Hansen proposed Aliss S Lewm as secretary and Air Watts as treasurer.—Carried. Lo?K v ndr€ . w Hansen suggested that books be printed to enrol members. A donation of £5 was received from Mr A. H. Christie. It was proposed by Aliss S. Leivin that, a novelty ball be held at an early date.—Seconded by Afiss Al. Davies and carried. It was decided that all single members form themselves into a committee to run the novelty ball, Miss S. Low in to bo in charge. It was left in the secretary’s and treasurer s hands to secure hall and get tickets printed. The music was left in the hands of Air Alf. Hansen and Alls A. H. Christie It was proposed by Air Hammonds that the secretary' write to Mr A. H. Chi istie and thank him- for Fis o,enerous donation to the club funds —Carried. '

Messrs George (Ivaupokonui), Af. >.van and H. Davies offered assistance in erecting bathing sheds. , Th ® following committee were elected : Messrs Silvester, R. Franklin, D. Christie, A G Bennett, Alf. Hansen, Mesdames A. H. Christie and Hansen. Misses Hotter, Lewin and Davies "ore elected to arrango canvassers.
