TUBERCULOSIS.
THE SPAHLING ER TREATMENT. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 20. The Spa,hlinger treatment for tuberculosis was mentioned in the House this afternoon. Replying to a question, the Minister for Health (Hon. Sir M. Pomare) said there had been no recent negotiations between the New Zealand Government and M. Spahlingor for the supply of his preparations. The High Commissioner inquired into the matter some, time ago, and it was found that M. Spahlinger was not in a position to supply any of Ins preparation, and was not likely to be able to do so for' some time to come.
The ease for the Spahlinger treatment was by no means proved, and the opinion of the Department of Healith w<us to the effect that the New Zealand Government should closely watch the investigations carried oaiib by the English Ministry of Health, but should not make independent arrangements with M. Spahlinger, rather allying itself with the British Government in the matter.
