(Fioin Our Own Correspondent.) Mild calm weather, changing to-heavy V 1 ou Thursday, and then to cold t ? n Saturday, has been the variable history of the week. As aii a y lengthens its work increases. All are busy milking once again, and day-time outings are gradually dropped, but evening entertainments are still as popular as ever. On Wednesday last Mrs Mood, wHh the help of the‘ladies °t the local tennis club, gave a most enjoyable evening. About eighty guests were present, and dancing, interspersed with a tew. songs, was so keenly enjoyed that quite a long night was made oi it Many who camei a good distance round the ample room and excellent floor and supper were attractions well repaying the journey. The usual euchre party in the hall was held on h rid ay. and was well attended. The prizes were won -by Mrs Stretton and Mr E. Trott. Dancing was energetically kept up till 1 a.m. ' The‘footballers’ ball on Tuesday next promises to be the event of the) season. Complete arrangements for a specially > enjoyable evening have been made with the energy for which footballers are notorious.
