MAIL ROBBERIES.

In an effort to prevent railway mail robberies, the United States Postal Department has let r contract for building three thousand specially designed cars, armoured, and heavily equipped with protective devices in such a~wav as to defeat attacks by armed desperadoes.—Rieuter.
