Reports from Khartoum state that anonymous notices were posted during the night in Omdurman and Khartoum inciting the people against British rule and appealing to “all sons of the Nile” to unite, and urging hatred of the British. The situation is quiet at present elsewhere. The Avarship Weymouth has left Port Sudan and the, Clematis is standing by. A detachment of Leicesters and a body of Egyptian infantry have arrived. The inquiries already conducted into the Sudan outbreak will be supplemented by a further Military Court, consisting of two Egyptian officers and one British nominated by the actingSirdar to inquire into the cause of the outbreak at Atbara.
