WASHED OFF R.EGVLUS. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. 14. Some cargo washed ashore ’ near Terawhiti, and thought at first to be from the Ripple, was recovered to-day and identified as part of the cargo washed overboard Horn the steamer Regulus. ATTEMPTED -MURDER CHARGE. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 15. John Edward Jeflerys, a carting contractor at Southbrook, was arrested last evening and charged with having- attempted the murder of his -wife, Florence Jeflerys, at Glentili on July 27.
