New Board of Trade regulations, which operate on July 1, 1925, require the vessels of foreign Governments, in addition to lifeboats, to carry buoyant apparatus with accommodation for 25 per cent of the personnel, together with a motor boat equipped with wireless and a searchlight for every 15 lifeboats. The davits must lie capable of turning out against the heaviest list, and each lifeboat, in addition to water and biscuits, must carry one pound of condensed milk per occupant.
