Charles Riclidale, a Teore settler, who was found in his house on Julv 7 badly injured as a result of a blow' on the head, and for which Frank Garrett, a neighbouring farmer, was later committed. for trial on a charge of causing actual bodily harm, died last night at his sister’s home at Puteranoi. Riclidale appeared in Court a fortnight ago to give evidence incriminating Garrett, and had seemingly quite recovered, but yesterday afternoon lie became semi-unconscious, dving during the evening before medical aid could l>e obtained. A post mortem has been held, and the inquest, will take place tomorrow.
