MOTOR FATALITY.

ACCIDENT ON GLOVER ROAD. NORMANBY RESIDENT KILLED. A sad motor fatality occurred at about 6 o’clock last night, when as the result of a Ford truck overturning on the Glover Road, Hawera, James Henrv King, of Normanbv, was killed, and his little daughter injured. It appears that Mrs J. J. Allen had been visiting Mrs King at Normanby, and Mr King had brought her home, and was returning with his daughter when the accident occurred. Eye-witneitees of the accident state that Mr King was driving • along the Glover road from the' direction of the railway station, and appeared to be turning up Wilson street. However, he seemed to change liis mind and he continued down the Glover road, narrowly missing the telegraph post on the corner bv Quin’s mill. A tyre blew out, and the vehicle swerved, out into the middle of the road and capsized, Mr King being crushed underneath. He was quickly extricated, but lie died in a few seconds. The little girl was thrown out as the truck capsized and sustained slight injuries to her face and leg. She was removed to the hospital, and this morning was reported to be doing well. Mr King was a married man with three children, and he had only recently arrived in the district from Hawke’s Bay.
