SHEEPSKINS, HIDES AND TALLOW SALE.

The New- Zealand Loan arid Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd,., Wellington, report :—"Tlie for tuigEtly sales of sheepskins, hides and tallow were held on Thursday by the various brokers. A good average catalogue of all classes was submitted to a fully representative attendance of buyers. Values for dry sheepskins wore quite equal to previous rates. Selected parcels of good quality and length at times tended upwards. Salties sold well, and prices all round were about on a par. A few- extra heavy full-woolled skins brought good prices. The hides market showed a decided improvement. Prices for heavyweight ox of good substance were id to Id per lb up on late rates. ’Lightweights of all descriptions were about par to Id higher. Kip and yearling improved Id to id on late rates, while calf were better by Id. For a nice line of heavy-weight ox of good substance 90 was secured, and for a good parcel of well-prepared calf, under 6lb, 13d. Tallow was in fair demand. Good coloured lines sold about on a par with late rates.
