WAVERLEY FIRE.

STORE DESTROYED. ESCAPE OF OCCUPANTS. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) PATEA, Aug. 12. An outbreak of fire occurred at Waverley about midnight last night, and resulted in the complete destruction of Shipton’s drapery store. The women’s rest room, in the same building, was also destroyed. Fortunately it was a calm night, and the buildings on either side were not damaged. The insurances are not yet available WANGANUI, Aug. 12. Shipton’s drapery store at Waverley, which was destroyed by fire, was insured for £I2OO. The family had a narrow escape, and only a few articles of clothing were saved.
