The weather was. ideal and the wicket fast. Bryan batted for hours and hit 29 fours. Pegler took three for 109. Bryan brilliantly hit the highest score against the South Africans. He gave chances at 94 and 147. The innings lasted 330 minutes. The first three batsmen were clean bowled by Jameson’s high-delivered slow-medium puzzlers. The Evening states -that Gibbons is issuing a writ of attachment against the promoter, Alajor Wilson, for the recovery of £7OOO outstanding as his share in the Bloomfield contest, at which the attendance fell far short of expectations.
