KAPONGA JERSEY CLUB.
MEETING OF COMMITTEE. -The committee meeting of ithe club was lie Id last Friday evening. Mr 1). .Malone occupied the chair. The secretary was instructed to arrange with Mr Geo. Ford (stock inspector) to select a suitable date for a lecture on cattle diseases. It was decided that early -ill September will be a convenient time.
It was deckled that the annual bull fair under the auspices of the club be held on Monday, October 13. Cataloguing and advertising were left in the hands of the secretary. Two remits from the Inglewood Club were discussed: (1) That the Taranaki Provincial Council request the auctioneers to reduce the rate of commission on pedigree- sales; (2) that in future the Council make arrangements for cataloguing and advertising pr - vincial and club sales, with a view to reducing the cost to vendors.—lt was decided not to support either of the remits. Regarding remit 2, it was. pointed out to be more satisfactory if each club arrange their own cataloguing and advertising. The rules of the club were approved by -the executive, and will be submitted to an extra general meeting, to be held at ‘the end of this month. It was decided to close all entries for the hull fair on August 20, and ballot for lots in the catalogue a few days after.
It was decided to obtain and post catalogues to every breeder in the.’ Herd Book.
The matter of drafting rules for the Kaponga Futurity Sweepstakes was left over to a later meeting. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.
