WEDDING.

COREY—JONES. At St. Cuthbert’s. Church, Manaia, a very pretty wedding was held on August 5, the vicar, Rev. A. C. Swainson, officiating; the contracting parties being Miss Levina Jones, Manaia, and Mr. A. H. Corey, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Corey, of Hunter Street, Hawera. The service was choral, as the bride has . been a member of the choir for over fifteen years. The church, which was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride, was filled with relations and, well-wishers. Tlie bride entered the church on the arm of her brother, Mr. Chas. Jones, who gave her away. She looked very dainty in a fawn coat frock and shotted silk liat with blue pansies, and carried a- shower bouquet of spring flowers, Her bridesmaid was Miss Nellie Gray, of Wanganui, cousin of the bride, who wore a dainty dress of flame-coloured velvet with black hat to match, and each carried beautiful bouquets, the gift of Mrs. Stevenson, of Wanganui, the aunt of the bride. Mr. Ghas. Jeromson acted as best man.

A nice wedding breakfast was held after the wedding ceremony at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Jones, when there was a large attendance of relations, the Rev A. C. Swainson presiding. A long toast-list was duly honoured.

The bride’s present to the bridegroom- was a gold sovereign case, and the bridegroom’s present to the bride a nice dress ring. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a bedroom clock. The bride’s travelling costume was navy blue gabardine with silk braid and hat to match. The happy couple, who were the recipients of some very nice presents, later left by motor for an extended honeymoon to (the South Island, carrying with them the good wishes of their many friends for their future happiness. The three-decker wedding cake was well • worth special mention, Mrs. W. Hall, of Sutherland Road, Manaia, being the maker. There were visitors to the reception from different' parts of the North Island. Mr. and Mrs. Corey will make Hawera their future home.
