REGISTRATION of MOTORS. (by TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION ) WELLINGTON, Aug. 8. that the Main Highways Act could not work satisfactorily until there was some method of registering the number of motor-cars in the North Island and South Island was the opinion expressed by the Minister for Public Works to-night. The Minister said the Act specially stated that the' monev should he divided according to the number of cars registered in each Island. Legislation to provide for this uas required as early as possible, and he understood the Motor Vehicles Bill n °w ° i n Jy required the formal consent of Cabinet before being introduced.
