The Ladies’ Club visited Stratford yesterday and played a match with that club. The weather was fine, with a high wind blowing, and the course was dry. In spite of the fact that Hawera was not at full strength they managed to win by one game. In consequence of this the match iwas interesting throughout and was thoroughly enjoyed hy all. Stratford provided an excellent afternoon tea, which was very much appreciated. Results are as follows (Stratford mentioned first): Miss Sangster won from Miss L. Quin 4 up and 3; Mrs. Hill lost to Mrs. Dickie 5 up and 4; Miss Wright won from Mrs. French 6 up and 5; Miss Sangster all square with Mrs. Thomson; Mrs. Gabiter lost to Mrs. Glasson 2 up; Mrs. Budge lost to Miss Wilson 2 up and 1; Mrs. Smith lost to Miss M. Quin 2 up and 1. Mrs Richards won from Mrs. Walkley 1 up.
