A COMMITTEE PROAIISED. (By Telegraph.— Special to Star) W&LyjiGTON, Aug. 8. It suggested to the Premier bv Mr Witty to-day that as the Gaming Amendment Bill is uon-oarty, though to controversial matter, a select committee be empowered to take evidence in regard to the whole question, including witnesses for and against gaming.

Mr Massey agreed with the questioner that the Rill was a non-pairty one, and said he had sufficient experience of that subject to it likely to Ire as controversial as ever. If the House desired it he would be glad to set up a committee ou the lines suggested. Air Parry: Of members of the House? Air Massey reolied in the affirmative.
