THE RIPPLE
NO TIDINGS YET. WASHED ASHORE. BODY OF SEAMAN. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, Aug. S. Nothing further has been heard concerning the missing steamer Ripple. Besides the trawler Futurist, which left last night to search, the following vessels will be in the probable track of the missing vessel to-day: Kawatiri. ep route from Napier to Westport; Nordbo, from Auckland to Wellington ; Kaitoke. from Wellington, to Auckland; Kaiwarra. from Auckland to Wellington; City of Canton, from Napier to Wellington.
MASTERTON. Aus. 8. A telephonic communication from tlie coast this afternoon stated that the dead body of a seaman and a lifeboat were washed up on the beach near !' lat Point station. V LLLTNG'IOX, Aug 8. The police superintendent received a telegraphic message from Masterton that the body of a man in a boat had been washed ashore at Flat Point. Police have been despatched. There are no further particulars, but it is believed that the body is one of the crew of the Ripple.
