FLOCK INCREASES.
NEW SOUTH WALES ESTIMATES. 8Y CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Aug. 8, 12.15 o.m. . SYDNEY, Aug. 8. Ihe official lambing estimate shows end of 1923 there were 18,000,000 ewes in New South Wales, of which 1,152,000 were mated for autumn and winter lambing. From autumn lambing 2,955,000 are expected and from the winter lambing 4.471,000. Lambs marked averaged about 65 per cent, ol the lambs dropped, the best average since 1911. From the spring lambings the markings are expected to total 3.301,000, or 70 per cent, of the droppings, which is a record. The high averages are due to the favourable season generally, and the decreased prevalence of pests.—A us.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
