VESSEL MISSING.
SEARCH FOR IJIE RIPPLE. (by TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON. Aug. 7. No word has been received (regarding the s.s. Ripple. The telephone wire with Cape Palliser is down, and a wireless was sent to the Mararoa, coming from Lyttelton, to divert her course and look for the disabled vessel. The Mararoa has now been recalled to land her passengers, and a tug is to be sent as soon as the weatheu- moderates a little. All. snips in the neighbourhood have been instructed to keep a look out. The Mararoa is expected at 4 o’clock.
