OAONUI DAIRY COMPANY.

ANNUAL MEETING. The twenty-eighth annua] general meeting of shareholders of the Oaonui Co-op. Dairy Company, Ltd., was held in the Public Hall, Oaonui, on Saturday. Mr D. Markham, chairman of directors, presided over a fair attendance. The annual report stated: During the season electric motors were installed in the Arawhata and Kina road branch factories, and these have proved a huge success, the saving in fuel being very much greater than was anticipated. The skimming of whey at Kina road was also carried out during the season, and this also has proved the wisdom of the outlay in machinery to save whey cream at this branch. The quantity of milk and butter-fat handled again shows a big increase on previous seasons. Payments during the season were made at Is per lb butter-fat for August, September and October, 1923, and March, April and May, 1924; and Is 3d per lb for June and July and November and December, 1923, and January and February, 1924. A further payment of 3d Tier lb butter-fat over August, September and October, 1923, and March, April and, May, 1924, has since been made from the available surplus as shown on the balance-sheet, and your directors now propose to distribute the remaining balance by making a further payment of lid "per lb’ butter-fat over the season 1923-24 and paying 1 per cent interest on shares. Since the closing'of accounts for the year the London market has moved upwards, and as there is still a good deal of produce to sell there will probably be a further surplus to distribute when final accounts come to hand.
