SUSPICION DISARMED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION —COPYRIGHT LONDON, Aug. 6. A daring daylight jewel robbery occurred at- the Nubia House, Cowes, the residence of Lady Baring, who was entertaining there during Cowes week. Lady Baring met a stranger in the hall, who, in response to an inquiry as to what he ! wan ted, asked for Sir Godfrey Baring. Lady Baring answered : “If you will wait a few minutes he will be here.” The stranger said he could not wait and coolly left by the garden door.

Subsequently a maid discovered that the Marchioness of Crewe’s jewel case, P^ ece ' s values at about £2OOO, had been stolen.
