Mr. A. L. Wylie, late senior inspector of schools in Southland, who has been acting as senior inspector at Taranaki, has returned to Southland, and is to retire on superannuation. A vote of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mr. C. F. Foote was passed at the annual meeting of the Rotokare Dairy Company, Ltd., last night. At the time of his death Mr. Foote was the company’s auditor. Second-Lieutenant W. O. R. Bredow, of Douglas, has been transferred from the fesei’ve of officers to the First Battalion Taranaki Regiment. Lieutenant Bredow has qualified by examination for higher rank. Mr. D. Morrison, manager of the New Plymouth branch of the Union Steamship Company, arrived in New Plymouth last night by the mail train, after a short holiday tour in the United States. Miss Mollie Syme, formerly of Hawera, who is now nurse at the Auckland Public Hospital, was successful in passing with honours at her final examinations held in Mav.
