UNEXPECTED TURN. MR, COSGRAYE OVERRULED. BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received Aug. 5, 12.45 p.m. LONDON, Aug. 4. Messrs Thomas and Henderson hurried to Dublin owing to Mr. Cosgrave changing his mind. When in London on Saturday he agreed that the Bill to amend the Irish Treay Act be postponed, but Cabinet at Dublin declined to endorse this, fearing the Republicans. It is understood that Mr. Thomas will now propose that the British Parliament meet on the 14th inst.. instead of October 25.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn. DELICATE NEGOTIATIONS. Received Aug. 5. 11.25 a.m. LONDON, Aug. 4. Lord Haldane, in the House of Lords, said that the Irish negotiations were too delicate to permit a statement to bo made before Wednesday.—Sydney Sun Cables.
