INDECENT ASSAULT ALLEGED. (BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION.) AUCKLAND, Ang. 4. A charge of indecent assault in a picture theatre on a girl of eight years of age, with alternative charges of common assault, was made against Angelo Constantini, a well-known Italian singer, in the Supreme Court today. Counsel foir Constantini said the defence was threefold. They would call evidence to show that the children who gave evidence had made a. mistake in identity. Further, there was no evidence of indecent assault. There might be some, evidence of assault, but of a trivial nature. Accused’s register would show that he had pupils at his studio on the afternoon in question. Counsel said he would submit evidence to show that another Italian, who had quarrelled with accused, had threatened to get accused out. of the country. The Italian referred to, in giving evidence for the Crown, denied having sold he would get the accused out of the country in three months. The case lias not finished.
