MINERS ON STRIKE. SYDNEY, Aug. 4. A meeting was held to-day of the miners representatives of all the mines in the northern fields, and resulted in rendering idle 7000 employees. The meeting resolved that, failing the granting of a conference between the owners and the miners to dismiss certain grievances, fourteen days notice of cessation of work be given the proprietors.
