The leading branches of the Federated Engine-drivers’ and Firemen’s Association have reiterated the/ir defiance of the Arbitration Court, and have decided to instruct the Federal president and secretary to refuse to accept the proposed new award and to form a council of action to discuss the future action to he taken. It has been agreed that if the.new claims are refused a strike will lie. called, and it has been decided to get in touch with the Labour Councils throughout Australia with a view to securing a united front by all organised Labour in pressing their claims.
