A ne w tone was adopted by the p i ess to-day in consequence* of ' dispatches from French correspondents in London, stating that negotiations were About to begin as regards the evacuation of the Ruhr, and suggesting the likelihood of a satisfactory result if France is adequately compensated from an economic viewpoint. The Ere Nouvelle says that by giving the world striking proof of her loyalty in evacuating the Ruhr France would he entitled to ask the Allies to make a sacrifice regarding war debts and guarantees of . security.—Reuter. TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES. THE DESIRE OF FRANCE. Received July 30, 12.10 p.m. PARIS, July 29, Parliaihent has reassembled. A telegram from M. He error was -read in the Chamber and the Senate defining the point reached at the London Conference, and declaring that, despite constant effort, several more days would necessary to bring the negotiations to. a conclusion, owing to the numerous technical difficulties, and adding that the French Government was firmly resolved to assure the rights of France and the re-establishment of the inter-Allied entente and peace.—Reuter. A new French formula, submitted to the conference to-day, proposes recourse to arbitration when the Reparations Commission fails to agree oh the question of German default, one of tha three arbitrators to be an American.—Reuter.
