EGMONT-WANGANUI HUNT CLUB.

(By “Follow Me.”) Ideal weather favoured the meet of the hounds at Messrs. Cleland Bros.’ property, -Kaponga, on Wednesday last. Leaving the homestead the hounds were soon in pursuit of puss, which made for the bush and was lost. Hares being rather too> plentiful the pack kept breaking after fresh hares, which prevented running puss to earth, although throughout the aftciv noon there were a few short runs, the horses jumping well, which all added to the sport for a pleasant afternoon. After the hounds were called off a very nice afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Cleland, and was much appreciated by the members the club. Before leaving the deputy-master thaifhed Mr. and Mrs. Cleland for their kindness to the Hunt Club members, and also the neighbours for the use of their country, which they laid open to the members for the day s sport Among the straight-goers were: T. Myles, huntsman (on “Tarero”) , G. Twidle, whip (“Sunshine”); R. Crocker, deputy-master (“Yarranuur ) ; N. Crocker (“Royal Park”); If. L. Spratt (“Molly Paul"); A. Mitchell (“Buenos Ayres”); J. Lavery (“Biro Biro”); H. Crockin' (“ K iriwha’ ) ; (,'lement (“Gold Thread”); A. Bailey (“Captain Dick"); A. McCracken (“Korari”); Joe Smillie (“Absent”). Among the onlookers were Misses H. Vine. F.
