INCOME TAX

HEAVY REDUCTION. (By Telegraph—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, July 30. The Minister for Education gave a fairly definite idea of the Government’s intention in regard to a reduction: of income tax when answering the criticism of Air Wilford last night regarding the failure to disclose the Government’s policy in the Budget. Air Pandeclared that the coming reduction of income tax would bring it to a pointnot more than half of what it was three years ago. “That, I think, is probably a record for any of the Dominions, that in three years we have been able to bring the income tax down from 8s 9d to such a figure as is within 1 a reasonable margin of half that.”
