The Grand Jury returned true bills in all cases, with the exception of a charge of being a rogue and a vagabond, which wats preferred against William Berge Hart; ' Parlane Ross Walker, for selling certain chattels subject to a bill of security, was placed on probation for three years. SEXUAL CRIMES. AUCKLAND, July 29. At the Supreme Court the grand jury submitted to Mr. Justice Stringer the following resolution: “The grand jury draws attention to the fact that indecent assaults upon children are still common, and expresses the hope that the administration of justice will be directed toward a reduction of this type of crime, which we feel is a stigma, on the Dominion.” His Honour referred io. the inquiry into sexual crime now proceeding, and said some useful information might soon be available. Many of the crimes were attributable to mental deficiency.
