WERE!NGTON SESSIONS. (BY TELEGBi'PH —t'P.ESP ASSOCIT ATI ON.) WELLINGTON. July 29 At the Supreme Court the criminal sessions opened before Mr. Justice Reed to-day. In his charge to the Grand Jury, the Judge referred to the long calendar, but said that it did not necessarily mean any great increase in crime. In regard to . the charge of murder, he said he would not refer to it at length. It was a matter for the
jury to consider. Parlane Ross Walker pleaded guilty to the sale of chattels already under a bill of sale to the Crown, the offence taking place at Auckland. Counsel said the accused had acted in good faith in the matter and had pleaded guilty in order to save the country the expense of a prolonged trial. His Honour decided to grant probation, the terms of which were held over. NO BILL. AUCKLAND. July 29. Tho Grand, Jury found no hill in the elnurge of manslaughter against William George lvier, arising from the death of a man named Nearv, who, defendant said, tried to enter his house while drunk. Tvier pushed him out. As lie fell his head stuck the kerhing. resulting in death.
