UNIVERSITY DEBATES.

TOUR OF OXFORD STUDENTS. VISIT TO DOMINION. (BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, duly 29. Word has been received that several Oxford students, members of the University Debating Society, intend to make a. world tour. Among them is Mr Malcolm MacDonald, son of the English Prime Minister. It is suggested that they should meet debating teams from our four university colleges and the proposal was placed before the Students’ Association of Victoria, College, it appears that there has been some dissatisfaction with the conduct of the debating society of this rollege, and a long and vigorous dismission was aroused by the proposal that debates should not be ot a Bolshevik, socialistic or disloyal, nature. In tlie end, by a large majority, it was decided that topics for debate shall lie subject to the approval cf the executive of the Students’ Association.
