The Persian Consul-General at Bomhay publishes the text of a letter from the Foreign Minister deploring the recent murder in Teheran. The letter contradicts the statement in the protest by foreign diplomats in Teheran to the Persian Government that the police and military took no steps to protect the victims from the infuriated mob, and contends that so vigorous was the action of the forces of the law that three armed police and one soldier were killed and others injured. Rigorous punishment of the offenders is promised.—Sydney Sun Cable. MURDER OF CONSUL. DEMAND FOR PUNISHMENT. WASHINGTON, July 28.
