The third attempt within a year to wreck a train near Durham resulted in the North-eastern night express, hound for Scotland, being temporarily derailed. While travelling at 60 miles per hour near Durham the express crashed into two inetal chairs, each weighing . 30 pounds. Fortunately the second chair put;the train back on the lines. The driver was able to stoD the engine, though seriously hurt in the iar of the collision.
