EXCURSION STEAMER, MOST OF PASSENGERS SAVED. BY OABLI —PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT Received July 28, 10.20 a.m. NEW YORK, July 27. The excursion steamer Gratitude, with 2000 persons aboard, sank in the harbour at Norfolk, Virginia. It is believed that most of the passengers were taken off in small boats. The Gratitude was returning from an excursion with the employees of the Tdxas Oil Co. and their families. Some of those taken off' sought refuge in a sunken barge, standing neck deep in water, and it is thought possible others were carried away by the title.—Reuter.
