APPEAL COURT. (BY TELEGRAPH- —PRESS ASSOCIATION. ) , ( WELLINGTON, July 24. The Court of Appeal gave judgment in the Bolton v. Knight appeal from a decision by Mr Justice Salmond, in which he held that an occupier of land was liable for a continuing nuisance the cause of which was created bv his predecessor in the title. The court upheld this decision, and dismissed the appeal. The Curt of Appeal dismissed an originating summons issued by plaintiff in the case McDougall versus At-torney-General under the Declaratory Judgment Act, 1908, the Court holding that the Crown was not hound by that statute. The case was argued o,i July 14. ATTEMPTED SUICIDE. TE KUITI, July 24. __John Nicholls, a single man, aged 47, a storekeeper’s assistant, .of Aria, was arrested yesterday afternoon, charged with attempted suicide. Nicholls, who is suffering from a bullet wound in his head, is now in the Hamilton Hospital.
