Mi. .Millivan expressed concern regarding the precautions taken on helinlf of the Government authorities in regard to the prevention cf the introduction ol Joot and mouth disease into Ne\\’ Zealand. Re was of the opinion that these precautions were not nearly adequate to meet the seriousness of the situation. The conference was of the general opinion that an urgent move in the matter was necessary, and it was decided that the live stock division of the Department of Agriculture he communicated with. The next meeting of the Taranaki Provincial Jersey Council will he held at Hawera.—News.
