CHRISTCHURCH, July 22. The most notable event of tiie past few days has been the sudden jumping- in oat values. On Friday morning f.o.b. sales in sacks were made at 5s Id and within 24 hours another 5d a bushel was ruling. To-day the Quotations are 5s 7d. The rise is entirely of a paper character, oversellers having to cover, and the Canadian market has improved in the meantime.
Chaff is also a little firmer than last week, due, no doubt, to the burst of the winter. Dunedin is also coming on the market. There is nothing new in the potato position. Quotations to farmers locally of £4 a ton are bringing feAv offers. F.o.b. sacks in values are £5. All classes of seeds are practically lifeless. AUCKLAND SHARE MARKET-. AUCKLAND, July 22.
