Salmon (honorary secretary of the New Zealand Football Association) to-day io the officials of the New Zealand Football Association says that the stalemcnt in regard to Air. Colin Reid acting as roach to the Chinese university team is published without their authority, and there is no desire to interfere in any way with Wong’s position as coach of the team, nor to use
Hcid in any way unless requested to do so by the visitors. At the same time, however, the N.Z.F.A. fully recognises Reid’s capabilities, and is quite prepared to act in any way that may be desired. Should the visitors desire to take advantage of his services. the council will only be too pleased to avail themselves of' them. ENGLISH SOCCER TEAM. TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND. SYDNEY. Julv 22. the Commonwealth Soccer Association has received advices that an English soccer team will tour Australia and New Zealand for six months next season. This visit is the first occasion that an Engish soccer team has toured Australia and New Zealand. THE LEAGUE GAME. ITINERARY OF ENGLISH TEAM. The following is the complete itinerary of the English League team for its tour through New Zealand: July 23—v. South Auckland, at Hamilton. July 26,—v. Auckland, at Auckland. July 28— y„ Lower Waikato, at Ngaruawhia. July 30-—v. Auckland Province, at Auckland. v August 2—First test match at Auckland. August 6—Second test match at Wellington. At Wellington the players, of whom there are. 27, will be divided into two teams this being rendered possible bv the rule against the replacement of players observed by the Ftmdish League.
