Cable Assn. CHANGES IN DAVIS CUP CONTESTS. NEW YORK, July 20. It has been learned here that play for the Davis Cup will continue to be an annual event according to the decision of a meeting of contending nations in London. The result of the deliberations will be referred to the various associations) interested, and the changes will be adopted should they secure the approval of two-thirds of the nations. Among the changes in the regulations approved were those reinstating Austria as a Cup-contesting nation, adding Ireland to the list under the title of United Ireland, and authorising Britain to make formal application for the inclusion of Jamaica as a separate contestant. —Aus.-N.Z.
