WEDDINGS.

WHITEHE Al>—SFli® S. A wedding creating considerable local interest took place on July 8 at Holy Trinity Chureii. Fitaroy,~ New Plymouth, when Melba Mildred, third daughter of Mr and Mrs IX Spiers, was married to Sydney Albert,'youngest son of Mr and Mrs F. Whitehead. The service, which was choral, was performed by the Rev. Cl. T. Beale. Mrs Stafford presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore an ivory brocaded moroeain gown. Her hand-embroidered tulle veil was held in place with pearls and sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful bouquet of white roses and spring flowers and ferns, finished with tulle and satin ribbon streamers. Miss Margaret Adam w;as chief bridesmaid, and wore pale green taffeta silk, relieved with gold lace and large black and gold hat, and carried a bouquet of white flowers and ferns. Miss Nancy Whitehead, niece of the bridegroom, was prettily tracked in deep cream charmeuse, with a girdle of pink silk roses. Her bouquet of pale pink rosebuds and maiden hair fern was veiled in pale pink tulle. Mr Warded, of Auckland, was best man. The wedding breakfast was held at the Hygienic Tea Rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured, only relatives of the familv being present. Later Air and Mrs Whitehead left for Auckland, en ronte to Rawene, Hokianga.

A wedding of much interest was celebrated at St. Stephen’s Cliurch, Waverley, when May, daughter of Air. and Airs. I). Grantham, of Waverley. was married to Ernest John, son of Air. and Airs. R. J. Linn, of Normanby. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. Wilson, and Miss T. Adi am presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her unde, Air. Benton Dawes, of Westmere, was attired in a frock of ivory duchesse satin with a draped overdress of lace, and her tulle veil was held in place with a coronet of orange blossoms. The bridesmaids, the Alisses Eleanor and Ruth Grantham, sisters of the bride, wore frocks of pale pink crimple marocain. and silver green crepe- satin, with hats to tone. They all carried handsome bouquets, the gifts of Airs. Percy Fowler. The bridegroom was supported by Air. Nelson Linn as best man and Air. Gordon Graytlon as groomsman. After the ceremony a. reception was held in the Town Hall. The happy couple left amid showers of confetti and good wishes for AVangauui, en route for the South Island, where the honeymoon will be snent. the bride travelling in a •navy tailored costume with a. smart hat.
