SALE GRADE .I*ERSEY HEIFERS. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. (Hawera branch), report: On the 18th inst., at our Pnlmer Road saleyards, we conducted a very successful sale on account -of Mr Frederick Iloskiu, Matapu, buyers being present from all parts of the district. About 57 2-year grade Jersey heifers were submitted to auction, ancl the majority were a choice lot. Except for several of the smaller heifers and a few backward, sorts bidding was very brisk. The top price of £l7 5s was obtained on two occasions, and a number were sold at prices ranging from £ll 15s to £ls. The following is a range of prices: Extra choice heifers, £l4 to £l7 os; choice heifers, £ll to £l3; medium and good backward sorts, £9 to £l2; small and backward sorts, £(5 to £9 10s; pedigree Jersey 2-year heifers, 19 to 22 guineas; pedigree Jersey 2-year bull, 20 guineas. We also offered on behalf of Mr Daniel Hurley, a small parcel of Jersey heifers at prices ranging from £lO 10s to £lO ss.
