At last night’s meeting of the Wanganui Education Board a communication wa s received from the Department pointing out that under the present scheme of appointing teachers there was a tendency to give preference to male teachers, and asking what action the board took in the matter. The chairman explained that they were jfto-t in the habit of making any' differentiation. It was decided that in future i teachers above 4A should be males —Chronicle.
